Searching For Sarah MacDiarmid - Episode 1

Sat, 27 Dec 2025

With Casefile on a short break, we thought this would be a great time to shine a light on some of the shows that may have flown under the radar for many of you. These are shows we've put our hearts into and are really proud of. Today, we’re sharing another one of those shows — Searching for Sarah MacDiarmid.

On 11 July 1990, 23-year-old Sarah MacDiarmid went missing from the Kananook railway station. Blood found beside her car suggested a violent attack — but Sarah was gone, and her body has never been found.

Across nine episodes, the series follows Sarah’s last known movements, investigates the witness accounts and leads, revisits the searches, and examines the possible connection to serial killer Paul Denyer.

Decades on, Sarah’s family still believe someone knows the truth — and hopes this series will reach the person holding that missing piece.

We’re releasing the first episode here on the Casefile feed. You can find the full nine-part series by looking up Searching for Sarah MacDiarmid, wherever you get your podcasts.

I hope you enjoy the series.

The Vanishing of Vivienne Cameron - Episode 1

Sat, 13 Dec 2025

With Casefile on a short break, we thought this would be a great time to shine a light on some of the shows that may have flown under the radar for many of you. These are shows we've put our hearts into and are really proud of. Today, we’re sharing another one of those shows — The Vanishing of Vivienne Cameron.

Back in 2018, we covered this case as Case 80: Beth Barnard. But this ten-part series goes far deeper. It’s a long-form investigation, written and hosted by Vikki Petraitis — who co-authored The Phillip Island Murder, the book that first brought this story to public attention.

The Vanishing of Vivienne Cameron revisits the events of that night in 1986, when 23-year-old Beth Barnard was found brutally murdered, and 35-year-old Vivienne Cameron—who was the prime suspect in Beth's murder—disappeared without a trace.

Across ten episodes, Vikki examines the women at the centre of the case, the evidence, the forensics, the witness accounts, and the many conflicting stories that have shaped public opinion for nearly forty years. It’s a complex, haunting mystery that continues to raise more questions than it answers.

We’re releasing the first episode here on the Casefile feed. You can find the full ten-part series by searching for The Vanishing of Vivienne Cameron, wherever you get your podcasts.

I hope you enjoy the series.

The Detective's Dilemma - Episode 1

Sat, 29 Nov 2025

With Casefile on a short break, we thought this would be a great time to shine a light on some of the shows that may have flown under the radar for many of you.

These are shows we've put our hearts into and are really proud of.

Today, we’re sharing another one of those shows, The Detective’s Dilemma, which is narrated by me.

The Detective’s Dilemma was originally released as a Spotify exclusive, meaning you could only listen to it on that platform. But now, for the first time, the entire series is available everywhere, for free, wherever you get your podcasts.

When 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan went missing, Detective Steve Fulcher arrested a suspect who offered to lead him to her body. When the suspect then asked, “Do you want another one?”, it set in motion one of the most significant and controversial investigations in recent UK history.

The Detective’s Dilemma explores the complex questions it raised about the justice system, police procedure, and the cost of doing what you believe is right. It’s a story that leaves you asking: what would you have done in the same situation?

We’re releasing the first episode here on the Casefile feed. You can find the full series by searching for The Detective’s Dilemma, wherever you get your podcasts.

I hope you enjoy the series.

Matty - Episode 1

Sat, 15 Nov 2025

With Casefile on a short break, we thought this would be a great time to shine a light on some of the shows that may have flown under the radar for many of you. These are shows we've put our hearts into and are really proud of. Today, we’re sharing another one of those shows - Matty.

Matty was originally released in 2022 as a Spotify exclusive, meaning you could only listen to it on that specific platform. But now, for the first time, the entire Matty series is available everywhere, wherever you get your podcasts.

Matty was the second podcast series we made in collaboration with Loren O’Keeffe from The Missed Foundation. Matty tells the story of Matthew Leveson, a 20-year-old who went missing in Sydney in 2007. His disappearance led to a decade-long fight by his parents, Mark and Faye Leveson, to bring their son home.

The Levesons search uncovered many twists, countless hurdles, and years of stonewalling, along with moments of both good and bad investigative work. It’s a story filled with heartbreak, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of the truth.

It’s a Casefile Presents production—created by the same team behind Casefile, with the same high standards you expect from us. I hope you enjoy the series.
