Review: Life Explored Series -The Good God (Ep1)

Fri, 01 Aug 2025

If you are listening to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath in the presence of God Almighty.

This week’s review is for the series,  Life Explored, which is a seven part series.  The first episode is called,The Good God.

Description

An exposé of the little gods that promise us so much happiness, yet deliver so little. As it explores the Bible story (creation, fall, redemption, new creation), Life Explored shows how our deepest desires for happiness can only be satisfied in one person, Jesus Christ. The best gift God can give us is himself.

Scripture References

John 17:20-24 (Jesus' prayer for the church)

Genesis 1:26 (we are made in the image of God)

Book Review: Radical Protection (My Testimony)

Fri, 25 Jul 2025

Hello everyone, welcome to our monthly book review.  The review for July is actually my testimony based of the book I recently read - Radical Protection by Pastor Derek J. Morris.

Radical Protection is a six-chapter book, that is spiritually loaded with testimonies, scripture and practical advice on how we can use the resources God has given us, to be protected in the spiritual battle.

In my previous review (June), I said that I would use the next book review, to comment on the group study questions that were at the end of the book.  However, instead, I feel impressed to share my testimony on how this book has impacted my life.

Scripture Reference

Psalm 19:7-11 (God's eternal law)

Review: The Great Composers Classical Destinations (episodes 1 and 2)

Fri, 25 Jul 2025

If you are listening to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with a great need to be nearer to God our Heavenly Father, through His Son,  Jesus Christ

This week’s review is for the documentaries: The Great Composers Classical Destinations (episodes one and two).

Description

Episode one: Johann Sebastian Bach worked in many of the German states, until he finally made his home in the ancient Saxon city of Leipzig. There he created some of the greatest music ever written, like the St Matthew Passion.

Episode two: George Frideric Handel, traveled much more widely after his birth in Halle in the Southern part of Saxony. As a young firebrand, he went to Italy where he created a sensation before settling in London for the last 40 years of his life. There a series of superb concertos, operas, and oratorios poured out of him: Messiah is simply one of dozens of immortal vocal masterpieces he produced there.

Review - The Incredible Journey: Florence Nightingale: The Lady with the Lamp

Fri, 18 Jul 2025

If you are listening to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the certainty of what God is calling you to do, for His glory.

This week’s review is for the documentary: The Incredible Journey - Florence Nightingale: The Lady with the Lamp

Description

Florence Nightingale was born into a life of wealth and privilege, in an age when women were expected to simply marry, have children and not do much else. But in response to a call from God, Florence dedicated her life to helping the sick – unheard of in Victorian England. In the Crimean War, she saved countless lives and came back a hero, sought after by royalty and governments around the world. Florence Nightingale dedicated her life to establishing the modern profession of nursing. She was motivated by the teachings of the Bible and her love for God. Her story inspires us to return to the Word of God and challenges us to rediscover God’s purpose for our lives.

NB! The presenter Gary Kent is from The Incredible Journey Daniel Series, not Christianity Explored.

Scripture Reference

2 Samuel 22:31 (take refuge in the Lord)
