Review: Come Follow Me

Fri, 26 Dec 2025

If you are listening to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the courage to follow Jesus, no matter what the consequence.

This week’s review is for the short docudrama, Come Follow Me.

Description

Come Follow Me explores what it means to be a disciple, a follower of Jesus by depicting scenes from the life of the Apostle Peter as he journeys with Jesus. Peter's story is full of misunderstanding, false pride, misplaced zeal, doubts, fears, and even denial. This short film traces Peter's rocky journey from the day he heard Jesus call his name to the post-resurrection conversation in which Jesus charges Peter to “feed my sheep.” Over time Peter was transformed from fearful denier to the bold leader of the early church. The answer for Peter, as it is for followers of Christ today, was found in the power and promise of Jesus' words. The film is also designed to be an effective evangelism tool. Those without much biblical knowledge will be given a excellent introduction to the gospel message and invited to Come and follow Him.

Scripture Reference

Hebrews 4:7 says, today if you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Review: Love Works (documentary)

Fri, 19 Dec 2025

If you are listening to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath with your mind set on things which are above, not on things on the earth.

This week’s review is for the  documentary, Love Works.

Description

Chris Conlee was born into a family with two flawed and broken parents who only became more dysfunctional after the death of Chris’s 18-year-old brother, Bubba. Faced with his father’s explosive temper and impossible expectations that no one could ever meet, Chris would eventually walk away from a promising professional golf career to follow a calling to the ministry.

See how Jesus used Chris’s difficult childhood to prepare and equip him for a life devoted to helping others overcome their traumatic pasts. Witness how God miraculously brought healing to the wounded relationship between Chris and his father - and how that healing is available to all.
